Why use a professional?
As all homes are different to clean, so are the people that clean them, those that call themselves house cleaners. To their extent of knowledge in the cleaning field, to their responsibility levels and personal morals or values. One is in the privacy of one's home. One would like to expect others are treating it not only with respect, but with care and knowledge.
I work for many that have had numerous house cleaners before using me, telling me their stories about them. From damaging items in their home to not showing up. To doing less and less as time passed rather than more and more. And then of course the nightmares none of us want to have to experience or go through. Like having valuable, treasured or sentimental items stolen or damaged.
Not to say all other cleaners are like this. I would say very few are. But I work for many that have had these things happen to them before using me. I also work for some that have cameras in their homes and I am always glad when others do have them. They eliminate doubt, about anything. And I am all for that. For example, if one finds or thinks something is missing. Who is going to be thought about first? Others that had been in their home. And rightfully so, until they find their item and see that wasn't the case. As we can misplace things at times. But our heads are racing to what, who, why, where and how repeatedly through the scenarios before that resolution may come to us, eventually and hopefully finding the item.

Besides the obvious violations we all try to avoid with having others in the privacy of our homes. Does the cleaner really know how to clean?. Anyone can carry a bucket around your home. Are they familiar with cleansers? Do they know the difference between ceramic, stone and granite counter tops? The type of cleaners to use for each? The type of supplies to use as well? Being told many times from those that have used other cleaners, having later found their things have been permanently damaged or scratched, having been cleaned very carelessly.
And I am not trying to sound as everyone else is not trustworthy or knowledgeable. I've hired and seen other cleaners that seem to really know what they are doing too. And apparently before some of my clients took the opportunity to try them, they chose me. It's just that there doesn't seem to be a shortage of the bad ones out there either.
So when hiring and using a professional, there should be a nice complete package of getting all of what you would come to expect from one. From a having a pleasant and good character, to being honest and reliable, to having someone that has your best interests at heart, not their own. And then obviously being good and hard workers. Willing to give more, not less, as time goes by.
So why use a professional?
It takes the edge off. Not adds new ones. Having someone working in your home consistently that is mature, pleasant, responsible and low maintenance.
Having a cleaner that actually knows a thing or two about cleaning and what it means to be a good one.
